Paddy DonnellyPaddy Donnelly who died recently was a leading light in the Liffey Valley Park Alliance and was a longtime fighter to preserve the liffey Valley. He was a member of the LVPA committee for as long as we can remember. Paddy took an active part in the work of the LVPA and did everything from using his unrivalled web of contacts (if you wanted to know something or someone about Dublin, Paddy knew a man who had the details. Paddy would arrange it ) to being a fund of knowledge and ideas.  He led some of our public walks around Chapelizod for us and, although, they weren't always organized to perfection, they were unfailingly informative, educational and fun. The last walk that he led for us was through the north side of the liffey in Chapelizod and included an impropmtu Joyce recitation and a discussion on bee keeping. When Paddy was involved, you never knew what would happen next.

The Unofficial Lard Mayor of Dublin In fact, Paddy spent his life fighting to preserve and protect all of Dublin's heritage. It is for this reason that he was described as "The Unofficial Lord Mayor of Dublin". He was one of the team behind the saving and restoration of the Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers Society building - the oldest surviving charity in Dublin

Paddy is survived and missed by his wife, Nuala, Children, Patrick, Carmel, Eilish and Leone, daughter-in-law Vivienne, grandchildren Killian, Cathal and Saoirse, Carmel's partner Kieran, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and many many friends.
